WHAT IS DISC?

The DISC model provides a common language that people can use to better understand themselves and to adapt their behaviors with others — within a work team, a sales relationship, a leadership position, or other relationships.

DISC profiles help you and your team:

  • Increase your self-knowledge: how you respond to conflict, what motivates you, what causes you stress, and how you solve problems

  • Improve working relationships by recognizing the communication needs of team members

  • Facilitate better teamwork and teach productive conflict

  • Develop stronger sales skills by identifying and responding to customer styles

  • Manage more effectively by understanding the dispositions and priorities of employees and team members

WHO IS DR. TONY ALESSANDRA?

Dr. Tony Alessandra has a street-wise, college-smart perspective on business, having been raised in the housing projects of NYC to eventually realizing success as a graduate professor of marketing, Internet entrepreneur, business author, and hall-of-fame keynote speaker. He earned a BBA from Notre Dame, an MBA from the Univ. of Connecticut and his PhD in marketing in 1976 from Georgia State University. He is a prolific author with 30 books translated into over 50 foreign language editions, including the newly revised, best-selling The NEW Art of Managing People; Charisma; The Platinum Rule; Collaborative Selling; and Communicating at Work.

Through our partnership we offer a variety of Tony's online assessments, including the widely used DISC profile assessment.

WHO IS EMILY BASS?

Emily Bass has spent her life doing what she is passionate about – making dreams come true. Early in her career she rose to national fame for her skiing and coaching skills, focusing her energies toward getting people with disabilities out on the hill, especially those who never dreamed they could do such a thing.​ She earned her Master’s in social work (MSW) and landed in philanthropy, another dream job, managing programs around substance abuse, child protection, suicide prevention and other important societal issues. She is a Certified Master Coach (CMC) and an Advanced Certified Practitioner (ACP) in DISC, Motivators, Hartman Values Profile (HVP), Emotional Intelligence (EIQ-2) and Learning Styles assessments. Emily’s greatest strength is her ability to see the potential in others and help them to move forward within the challenges of the work place and in learning environments. 

Through our partnership with Emily we offer her Executive Coaching talents to all of our JLS students and alumni so that she can complete DISC Debriefs and assist in other equally beneficial ways.
